I'm not sure where I'm headed and I'm yet fumbling for the map. I am beginning the beginnings of a draft for a research proposal in completion of a Master of Arts and my sister suggested an online journal as a way to organize my thoughts and to create a visual representation of this journey. It may be appropriate as the idea of an illuminated manuscript is flickering around the periphery of my eureka lightbulb moment that is, of yet, somewhere on the dim horizon ahead. Illuminated is different than illustrated. An illustration is a visual rendering of an idea or a thing that represents an idea that may augment or complement the written word. An illumination is something that brings light to the written word - deepens and enlightens the written word.
So a blog . . . it provides a space for illumination with images and with word. I'm not sure yet how I will use this and I don't care if it is public or private at this particular point. I will embark with a series of conversations with myself that will eventually include reflections on conversations with others and maybe even at one point invite contributions of others.
But as I say, I am still fumbling for the map.
